Bollywood 2015

Bollywood at its Best in 2015.

2015! Yet another year ends… And leaves behind some great movies, epic sequences and fantastic performances. Being an ardent fan, Bollywood impresses me every year with some unique stuff or sometimes the same stuff in a unique way. With every passing year my love for Bollywood is ascending and therefore it is intricate to pen down the best of 2015.

In 2015, Bollywood was successful to amaze the diverse tastes of the audiences. The patriotic ‘Baby‘ or the revenge drama ‘Badlapur‘, ‘Hate Story 3‘ (yes, it has a story!) were appreciated by the audiences. While films like ‘Dum Laga ke haisha‘ and ‘Pyaar ka Punchnama-2‘ turned out to be impressive, ‘NH10‘ and ‘Drishyam‘ didn’t fail to thrill. The parallel cinema lovers too, were in joy with films like ‘Margarita with a straw‘, ‘X‘, ‘Angry Indian Goddesses‘ doing well. Also, the films like ‘Talvar‘, ‘Masaan’ and ‘Manjhi‘, having strong plots and superb performances, were highly appreciated. Films like ‘Tanu weds Manu returns‘, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do‘ and ‘Piku‘ also should not be given a miss.

With all such amazing performances and plethora of dialogues, 2015 witnessed some major clashes at the Box-office. The first one being, ‘Baahubali‘ and ‘Bajrangi bhaijaan‘. With larger than life sets and magnificent visuals , Baahubali managed to impress everyone while the latter had the Superstar Salman Khan breaking his recent image and giving a strong message through his film. Year ended with another big clash, between ‘Dilwale‘ and ‘Bajirao Mastani‘. With SRK and Kajol reuniting along with a fun and comic starcast, ‘Dilwale‘ was a complete family entertainer. On the other hand, SLB’s magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ was a treat to watch with epic performances by Ranveer, Deeepika and Priyanka and the majestic sets. Above all, I feel ‘Tamasha‘ was top-notch! Hats off to Imtiaz Ali for this one. A film showing the reality of life with brilliant performances by Ranbir and Deepika.

With such diverse genres of films, it is difficult to choose the top list of the year. But, there were some splendid actors who owned 2015 with their performances. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is getting better with every film. ‘Badlapur’,’Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Manjhi’ are the proof. And with ‘Piku’, ‘Tamasha’and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Deepika Padukone was the undisputed queen.’Ranveer Singh’ was a show-stealer in the role of Bajirao ballad, he has made it large!

If you have missed these films, do watch it. 2015 was great, and 2016 is going to be even better with the likes of Airlift, Wazir, Fitoor, Fan, Raees, Sultan,Mohenjo daro, Dangal and many more.

Signing off!

SRK and The Intolerance Story

What is Intolerance? Perhaps, most of the people did not knew what it meant when SRK mentioned it in his interview on his 50th birthday. But where there is SRK, all of a sudden people remember Pakistan, unpatriotism and the controversies. Let anyone else speak about intolerance, it’s absolutely fine. No one will even bother to think about it or google the word. Thank you SRK for letting people find out what intolerance is, actually people just found the word but not its meaning. The only meaning that is coming in light is related to Pakistan, anti-national behaviour, terrorism, etc.

India is a democratic as well as secular country. Then why should a person leave his country because he expressed his views. Irony!

Not to be said again and again, but SRK is the most popular Indian globally. The second richest entertainer is an Indian! Yes, an Indian. He makes India proud, but still some want him to leave the country.

Other countries would love to have him, but his heart lies in India, the place where is father contributed for the independence of the country. He is the one honored with  ‘Unesco Pyramide con Marni’ for charity and education for children, ‘Datuk’ by Malaysia, ‘Legion of Honour’ highest civilian award in France, two-time honorary doctorate, recently by University of Edinburgh for his outstanding record of philanthropy, altruism and humanitarianism. There are many more such awards and honours apart from the film awards. Isn’t it enough to make India proud overseas?2182_5505737f68596

When the president of US quotes in his speech “India will succeed so long as it isn’t splintered along the lines of religion, any lines. So long as all Indian go to the movies and applaud an actor like Shah Rukh Khan”, If not the movies, atleast applaud for his philanthropy or the inspiration he gives to millions of people.

But Sadly, the people outside India know his value and are proud of him, but in his own country he is called as anti-nationalist by some. The same actor who gives a message of humanity in his film ‘ My Name is Khan’ or the feel of patriotism when India wins the hockey world cup in the movie ‘Chak De India’. shahrukh-khan-silent-look-chak-de-india

Well, he has billions of followers for a reason. The fans outside his house for his birthday are enough to say how much he is loved in this country. I think India is fortunate to have a person like Shah Rukh Khan, who is making the country proud worldwide.

But, the question of Intolerance is still unanswered. Well, that cannot be answered by accusing someone.

Tolerance will be established when every person, religion, caste and race will be respected.

Jai Hind.

The Illogical Movies

Movies are an important part of our life. The characters, the dialogues, one-line, music remain in our memories. But as everyone’s perspective is different towards the movie, the views are different and then there is a good movie and a bad movie or even a worst movie.
Many a times I have heard people saying that, this movie is Illogical, it has no logic, the laws of physics are violated, etc. I just feel like laughing on these statements,  come on guys, it’s a movie, not a science project where the physics laws should be followed. And not everyone look for logic in movies. It is necessary for movies to have logic, I don’t disagree with this. But it is also necessary to have some so called Illogical masala pot-boilers.
Many people watch movies for refreshment. Some get exhausted from the daily 8 hour job, or some students trying to relieve their stress after the exams. If these people, with their tortured brains search for logic in the movies, then how can they get refreshed?!
There are audiences for all types of movies, it is our choice to watch whatever we like rather criticizing what we don’t like.
Sometimes it’s fun to watch the movies having larger than life heroes, item songs, flying cars, Dialogue baazi. All this doesn’t happen in real life, that’s why they are in movies. Just relax and enjoy. If you want logic, then go watch such movie, why waste time and energy in watching and then criticizing the so called Illogical movies?!
But it’s fun to watch them if you love to appreciate the work.
