Bollywood 2015

Bollywood at its Best in 2015.

2015! Yet another year ends… And leaves behind some great movies, epic sequences and fantastic performances. Being an ardent fan, Bollywood impresses me every year with some unique stuff or sometimes the same stuff in a unique way. With every passing year my love for Bollywood is ascending and therefore it is intricate to pen down the best of 2015.

In 2015, Bollywood was successful to amaze the diverse tastes of the audiences. The patriotic ‘Baby‘ or the revenge drama ‘Badlapur‘, ‘Hate Story 3‘ (yes, it has a story!) were appreciated by the audiences. While films like ‘Dum Laga ke haisha‘ and ‘Pyaar ka Punchnama-2‘ turned out to be impressive, ‘NH10‘ and ‘Drishyam‘ didn’t fail to thrill. The parallel cinema lovers too, were in joy with films like ‘Margarita with a straw‘, ‘X‘, ‘Angry Indian Goddesses‘ doing well. Also, the films like ‘Talvar‘, ‘Masaan’ and ‘Manjhi‘, having strong plots and superb performances, were highly appreciated. Films like ‘Tanu weds Manu returns‘, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do‘ and ‘Piku‘ also should not be given a miss.

With all such amazing performances and plethora of dialogues, 2015 witnessed some major clashes at the Box-office. The first one being, ‘Baahubali‘ and ‘Bajrangi bhaijaan‘. With larger than life sets and magnificent visuals , Baahubali managed to impress everyone while the latter had the Superstar Salman Khan breaking his recent image and giving a strong message through his film. Year ended with another big clash, between ‘Dilwale‘ and ‘Bajirao Mastani‘. With SRK and Kajol reuniting along with a fun and comic starcast, ‘Dilwale‘ was a complete family entertainer. On the other hand, SLB’s magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani‘ was a treat to watch with epic performances by Ranveer, Deeepika and Priyanka and the majestic sets. Above all, I feel ‘Tamasha‘ was top-notch! Hats off to Imtiaz Ali for this one. A film showing the reality of life with brilliant performances by Ranbir and Deepika.

With such diverse genres of films, it is difficult to choose the top list of the year. But, there were some splendid actors who owned 2015 with their performances. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is getting better with every film. ‘Badlapur’,’Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Manjhi’ are the proof. And with ‘Piku’, ‘Tamasha’and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Deepika Padukone was the undisputed queen.’Ranveer Singh’ was a show-stealer in the role of Bajirao ballad, he has made it large!

If you have missed these films, do watch it. 2015 was great, and 2016 is going to be even better with the likes of Airlift, Wazir, Fitoor, Fan, Raees, Sultan,Mohenjo daro, Dangal and many more.

Signing off!

Dilwale Review – A to Z Entertainer

All films are important. The logical hollywood films or the contentful and message-giving bollywood films and also larger than life tollywood films. We have audience for all these, but Me, being a film buff love all kind of films.  Because, all we need is entertainment!
Here’s my Dilwale Review.

Dilwale – A,B,C,D,E,…

ABCDE – Action, Bromance, Comedy, Drama, Emotions and it can be continued till Z.
One of the much awaited film of the year, mainly because of SRK – Kajol reunion, is here! Well, they are undoubtedly the best onscreen couple in Bollywood and we get to see that in Dilwale too. But there is more to this Action-Comedy other than the flying cars and the SRK – Kajol chemistry. In this era of the variety of films, we need some entertaining films like Dilwale.

Synopsis

The flashback story is about Raj (SRK) and Meera (Kajol), who belong to two rival mafia families. Eventually they fall in love, but after a lot of gun firing and car flying, they go separate ways.

Cut to 15 years later, Raj settles to a normal life as a car modifier and mechanic leaving behind his past, to take care of his brother Veer (Varun Dhawan). Veer soon falls in love with Ishita (Kriti Sanon) and tries to woo her with his funny ways. But ishita happens to be the younger sister of Meera and then the past haunts back to Raj and Meera. Will their history affect the future of the young couple?

The story seems predictable but it is still fun to watch it on screen with some amazing performances.
It is not the typical Rohit Shetty film (yes, the cars do fly), he has something more to offer this time. The drama, the emotions and the romance along with the rib-tickling comedy.
There are moments when you have tears of laughter as well as tears of emotions. And the cars are the sexiest in this Action Comedy.

Although it might not be “something new” for the viewers, the performances of the actor will leave the mark in their “Dil”. Be it, the relationship between the brothers Raj and Veer or the funny chemistry between Veer and Siddhu (Varun Sharma),  chemistry is between each and every actor. But the epic chemistry is obviously between Raj and Meera, A 5 – minute date is enough for them to win hearts.

Cast

Not to forget the supporting cast of the film, without whom the film wouldn’t have been so entertaining. Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Boman Irani, Mukesh Tiwari, Pankaj Tripathi are the funniest lot and Varun Sharma impresses with his witty style.

Varun Dhawan is the most sweetest younger brother to the caring elder brother Shah Rukh Khan. Kriti Sanon is stunning and Kajol has no competition, finest performance!

Final Take

If you want entertainment, just go and watch Dilwale. It is Rohit Shetty’s best film with all the elements of a blockbuster. The SRK – Kajol jodi ruling the Bollywood since two decades are a treat to watch for all the fans!
Watch it for the Chemistry!
And the last scene will surely bring a smile on everyone’s face. 😊

Dil se dekho! But remember,  “Dil To Har kisi ke paas hota hai par sab Dilwale nahi hotey. ”
